President's Message
Dear SEW IFMA Members,
As we step into September, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible turnout we had for our 32nd Annual Ken Laga Memorial Golf Outing earlier this month at Ironwood Golf Course. Thank you to all the golfers, volunteers, and sponsors who came together for one of our chapter’s favorite traditions. Beyond the great weather and friendly competition on the links, the day was all about strong connections, fantastic networking, and sharing plenty of good times while directly supporting our chapter scholarship program.
The energy and camaraderie from the golf outing set a high bar, but our momentum across southeastern Wisconsin is not slowing down. Looking at our upcoming calendar, we have some phenomenal opportunities to keep building our community and making a positive impact together:
· Hunger Task Force Farm Service Day: Join us on September 10th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM out at the farm in Franklin. We will be working hands-on to harvest fresh produce for our local community. It is always a rewarding way to give back alongside fellow members, and we would love to see a strong team out in the fields.
· October Fire Safety Event at JM Brennan: Looking ahead to October, we are excited to host our upcoming fire safety and educational event hosted by JM Brennan (located at 2101 W St Paul Ave in Milwaukee). This will be a fantastic session focusing on critical life safety systems, facility protection, and best practices, so keep an eye out for registration details on our website.
· SEW IFMA Holiday Party and Silent Auction: Looking further ahead on the winter calendar, mark your schedule for December 9th from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at The Bucyrus Club in South Milwaukee. It is a wonderful annual celebration featuring our Service Committee’s signature silent auction, so stay tuned for registration updates.
As always, the true heartbeat of SEW IFMA is active member involvement. Beyond attending our networking events and service projects, I encourage you to consider stepping up to serve on one of our committees. Filling a committee member position takes just a few hours each month, yet it is one of the most rewarding ways to expand your professional network, share your expertise, and help shape the future direction of our chapter.
If you are interested in joining a committee or want to share ideas for upcoming educational sessions and facility tours, please reach out to me or any member of the Board.

Silent Auction: During November, SEW IFMA Service Committee will be reaching out to solicit donations for the silent auction held during our Holiday Party. If your company is interested in donating or participating in the silent auction, please reach out directly ([email protected] or [email protected]).
BidBeacon will go-live on Friday, December 4, the Friday before the holiday party. We will provide the BidBeacon link at that time so guests can view items and place their bids.
