President's Message

Dear SEW-IFMA Members,

As your newly sworn in President for the 2026 2027 term, it is an absolute honor to share my first monthly message with you. First, I want to extend a huge thank you to Dawn Gustafson for her incredible leadership over the past year. Because of Dawn, our dedicated Board, and our deeply engaged members, we are on a strong path forward with growing membership and vibrant corporate support. I am thrilled that Dawn will remain on the Board as Past President to help guide us through this exciting next chapter.

As we step into July and the heat of the summer, we have a fantastic lineup of events and initiatives designed to keep our community connected, engaged, and giving back.

Community Outreach and Service Events True to the spirit of SEW IFMA, our commitment to supporting organizations that make a real difference in Southeastern Wisconsin remains stronger than ever. We have three vital service events coming up over the next few months, and we would love your help if you can spare a few hours:

Waukesha Salvation Army: Join us on July 15th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at their Madison Street location to assist with community outreach.
Kinship Food Center: On August 11th from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, we will be volunteering at the Kinship Community Food Center in Milwaukee. Registration is open, and volunteers are needed!
Hunger Task Force Farm: Looking slightly ahead, mark your calendars for September 10th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM to help harvest fresh produce at the farm in Franklin.

Our highly anticipated Milwaukee River Pontoon Cruise is officially taking off on July 30th from Pere Marquette Park! This event is SOLD OUT, which speaks volumes about the enthusiasm of our members. For those who secured a spot, I look forward to spending a great summer afternoon on the water with you. If you missed out, please feel free to email Rachel at WAM ([email protected]) if you would like to be added to the waiting list. Otherwise, keep an eye out for upcoming networking events, we have plenty more opportunities in the works to connect and form lasting friendships!

32nd Annual Ken Laga Memorial Golf Outing Registration is officially open for our famous golf outing happening on September 2nd at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex. This is one of our most anticipated traditions, helping to fund our chapter scholarship program while offering a fantastic day of networking. Foursomes and sponsorship opportunities are filling up fast, so make sure to secure yours soon. And remember, even if you do not golf, we always need enthusiastic volunteers to help keep the energy high and flag down the beverage cart!

Get Involved and Support Your Chapter As we look to the year ahead, we have plenty of sponsorship options available that provide excellent visibility for your business while directly supporting our educational programs and events. Additionally, we currently have several committee chair positions open. Serving as a chair or joining a committee takes just a few hours a month and is an incredible way to grow professionally, build relationships, and shape the future of our chapter.

We work hard to deliver maximum value, but we cannot do it without you. If you are interested in a sponsorship, joining a committee, or if you have ideas for a future training session or facility tour, please reach out to myself or any one of the board members for more information. Your feedback, time, and energy are what make SEW IFMA more than just an association, it is a community we can all rely on.
