I’m excited to kick-off our chapter’s mentoring program. This program is open to all chapter members who are either looking to share their experiences and knowledge to the next generation of facility professionals or mentees who are looking for some professional guidance. I encourage you to take a moment to consider joining the group as either a mentor or mentee. Initially, we will be limiting the number of the participants to 10 mentees, with the intent to expand the program as it matures. Please let Dianne Gnatzig (Dianne.Gnatzig@CH2M.com) know if you are interested in being either a mentor or mentee!
To help make the connections between each group as easy as possible our Communications team has recently developed a question and answer module on our Chapter’s website. This module should be an excellent tool to communicate and pass information within the chapter members. Of course, there is always the old-fashion way of connecting in person at chapter meetings or by telephone, Skype or Facetime should aid in making the connection
Finally, this week, the Service Committee presented a donation and check to Jason Parry and his team at the Penfield Children’s Center. Excellent job in raising a record amount of funds and dedication to make this a success for our chapter.

A hearty Thank You to one and all who helped to make this year’s IFMA Holiday Social and Auction a great success!! All of our auction donors were very generous this year in their gifts and we had some amazing auction items brought to the table (literally). Bidding was boisterous and special thanks to all our auction winners for their generosity, which raised $2142.00 to benefit the Penfield’s Children Center in purchasing a Soft Touch Floor Sitter and a Kimba Neo Mobility base with Kozi Seating System for the use of their children.
Many hours went into organizing this annual event from both the Service Committee and the Special Events Committee. Their time and commitment to SEW IFMA is greatly appreciated!

The Lunch-2-Go program provides brown bag “to-go” lunches for guests of the Ronald McDonald House. The goal of the program is to eliminate both the worry and the cost of a lunch for families residing in the House. Three times a week, Lunch-2-Go volunteers prepare items that families can pack into individualized brown bag lunches and take on their way out.
Lunch-2-Go volunteers prepare lunches in the House from 5:45-7:45pm, and all supplies are provided for you, courtesy of Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
The Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of IFMA invites you to participate in the FM Forum. Take advantage of the knowledge and experience of your fellow members. Open conversations and ask questions. I have 20 years of experience in providing products and services in the Commercial interiors market. I currently provide products through contract dealer distribution and offer services that include AV integration and IWMS software and deployment services. Our organization is a Tier 1 iOffice channel partner, and my experience includes Commercial relocation & logistics, commercial interior design/build/service model, IWMS services and deployment.
Our industry is becoming more and more reliant on gathering, understanding and reporting on real time data to provide services and become part of the organizations ability to attract and retain talent in a tight job market. I can provide insight and resources dealing with relocation management, asset management, inventory management, experience leading a team in developing commercial interiors to reflect an organization’s brand and culture, facility management software (IWMS) services and deployment. The wider and deeper our experiences are the more value we can provide our organization.
HGA Architecture & Engineering hosted an excellent tour for the January Program. Thank You to the HGA team for organizing a very interesting history of the building located on the Milwaukee River, in Milwaukee's Third Ward. They were also very informative on their strategies for keeping "all systems go" during construction, without disrupting productivity. It is an impressive undertaking and looks like a great success. We appreciate all the hard work the HGA team put forth to provide SEW IFMA with first hand view of their construction zone.
Program Committee members help plan educational programs, building/construction site tours, and a number of social events throughout the year. Members meet bi-monthly, currently at Moe’s Irish Tavern on Highway 100 and Bluemound. We brainstorm and coordinate new events/tours. Typically each member is assigned to coordinate an event. Currently along with our monthly programs, planning is in the works for our annual Member Appreciation Event in October at Veloce Go Cart Racetrack and Point Burger Bar. The Programs Committee is a great way to get involved and meet our members along with the opportunity to have a say in our Chapters future events.
