Thanks to our Chapter Members & Guests who volunteered to help harvest on September 19th at the Hunger Task Force Farm. This was a great opportunity to provide community service AND network with your Chapter!

Since 1967, Penfield Children’s Center has provided early-intervention services to help children overcome developmental delays, adapt to physical disabilities and conquer medical challenges. To ensure their success in school and in life, Penfield provides a wide array of educational, developmental and therapy services in a safe and stimulating environment. Programming is provided during the critical time of early brain development when physical, cognitive, language, social and self-help skills are formed.
With regard to the building itself, we strive to make it visually interesting for the children, yet still as safe as possible. The indoor playground features a larger than life shoe built into the corner, with a forest mural on the wall. The Head Start classrooms upstairs feature one way glass, so that parents can observe them in the classrooms discretely. We make great use of natural light, via several transparent or translucent elements on the roof.
The original building was built as Central Lanes Bowling in 1930. It's two floors of bowling made it the largest "bowling alley" in town. A 1994 Addition allowed Penfield additional growth but created some challenges from a building operations stand point.

The Service Committee is looking for donations for this year's Holiday Party Silent Auction:
It may be hard to believe, but Santa’s elves (namely your Service Committee members) are in high gear planning the Silent Auction for the upcoming Holiday Social on December 5th at the Pabst Best Place.
This auction provides the funds used to support our selected charitable organizations; Hunger Task Force, Ronald McDonald House, Pennfield Children’s Center and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Additionally, our IFMA members donate their time when we host special events at these organizations.
For all of you have who have been generous supporters of our auction in the past by providing gift baskets, gift cards, technology items or tickets to special events, we thank you. We encourage any members or companies to join in our fund raising efforts this year by donating a gift item for the auction. The more the merrier and the more options for bidding to support our charities!

We are pleased to announce that eight (8) students are enrolled in the SEW IFMA Chapter's CFM Certification coursework on November 7th & 8th in Milwaukee. SEW Chapter has five members attending; and IFMA Madison Chapter has three members.
Several of our Chapter Members who signed up before June 19th received a $300 CFM Scholarship made available from Chapter Professional Development funds.
All IFMA Wisconsin Chapter Members (Madison, Northeast Wisconsin and Southeast Wisconsin) were eligible to register for the CFM Class.

Mark Sekula, FMP, SFP, LEED-AP, CFM, IFMA Fellow, is President of Facility Futures, Inc. a global facility management consulting firm in Milwaukee., WI. With over 40 years of facility management experience, he has served as a facilities management (FM) practitioner and as an FM consultant. He is a certified instructor of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and teaches classes in facility management internationally. He is on the adjunct faculty at the Northern Illinois University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Mark has served on the board of directors of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and currently serves on the IFMA International Credentialing Commission and as Chair of the IFMA Facility Management Professional Scheme Committee. He founded the IFMA Facility Management Consultants Council and has served as a subject matter expert for several IFMA educational programs.
Mark has co-authored two books, “The Facility Manager’s Field Guide” and “Sustainable Facility Management-The Facility Manager’s Guide to Optimizing Building Performance” as well as having had over 25 articles published on facility management and business issues in a variety of professional journals. In 2013 and 2014 Mark was named Distinguished Author of the Year by the International Facility Management Association.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning and a certificate in business from the Kellogg Management Institute at Northwestern University.
Program Committee members help plan educational programs, building/construction site tours, and a number of social events throughout the year. Members meet bi-monthly, currently at Moe’s Irish Tavern on Highway 100 and Bluemound. We brainstorm and coordinate new events/tours. Typically each member is assigned to coordinate an event. Currently along with our monthly programs, planning is in the works for our annual Member Appreciation Event in October at Veloce Go Cart Racetrack and Point Burger Bar. The Programs Committee is a great way to get involved and meet our members along with the opportunity to have a say in our Chapters future events.

The SEW IFMA Education Committee is charged with providing educational opportunities to all the members of SEW IFMA through educational programs, student scholarships and member professional development. It will work to ensure that the member educational and certification needs are met.
