President's Message

Greetings,

It is very hard to believe, but it has been a whole year already since our last Annual Dinner and being sworn into office.  We sure have made some big strides forward and have added value in many different areas this year together with your help and support.  By looking at things differently than we have in the past, we saw the need for more communication about all the good things we are doing here at IFMA, to show people the value we bring. Not just more in quantity, more in value, by adding diversity to the way we deliver our communication through LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.   We also looked at how to add more value that you as members can demonstrate to your managers by the educational activities we’ve programmed this year, we rekindled the Scholarship Program, the Professional Development Program, and have evolved the FM Roundtable Discussion to help funnel ideas that you as members find most pertinent.  Our team took your ideas and built on them turning them into topics that we’ve taken more in depth through Breakfast and Learns, Lunch and Learns, and other programs all of which were very well attended this year.

We’ve driven value by enhancing the benefits to our sponsors with making sure they have their fice minutes in front of the groups to highlight their good and their service as well as we developed the Sponsor Spotlight and the New Member Spotlight to help raise people awareness and to promote engagement.

This year we also held a successful Tri-Chapter and Sponsorship drive and we are well on our way to planning another awesome Annual Dinner in June and the Ken Laga Golf Tournament in July.  It keeps getting better and better.

We certainly could not have accomplished any of this if it weren’t for the hard work and dedication from each member of our leadership team and for that I am truly grateful.

Thank you also to our committee volunteers and Administrator Janet who work extremely hard behind the scenes making sure our programs all go according to our plans.

And thank you to all of our members and sponsors for helping make this a great journey. We have really enjoyed it.

With summer almost upon us now, this would be a great time to check on your chillers and air conditioners to make sure everything is working and clean, including your tower coils, filters, sumps, and condensate pans.  Check on your water treatment to make sure you are operating at peak efficiency before the hot weather really sets in.  Remember to check those roof drains to prepare for the summers storms.  And above all from a safety perspective, be aware of all of the additional activity happening around your buildings and grounds now with children out of school and festival season just gearing up.

All the best to you and your family for a fun and safe summer,

Scott

In Case You Missed It

New Member Lunch on May 23rd was another huge success thanks to the planning by Karyn Biller, Membership Chair; and Dave Bauer, Vice Chair!

AND special thanks to our new members for taking to the time to participate!  It was a great opportunity for new members to learn about the Chapter and to interact with our Board and Steering Committee members.

Historic Milwaukee - Downtown Walking Tour on June 6th was followed by a great networking event at Rock Bottom Brewery!

Brett Heikkila, Programs Chair, coordinated another quality program.  If you are interested in getting more involved in the Chapter, Brett is looking for volunteers to assist in planning the Chapter's future programs.

Special thanks to our event sponsor, Renee Primeau, Tandus Centiva!
